2017 YEAR END FUNCTION AND DOJO KUN
TROPHY WINNERS
On Saturday, 18 November, we had our annual
year end function. This year's theme was
'picnic' and what a success it was! Thank
you to everyone who attended and especially
Chané Erasmus Sempai who took charge of the
decorations.
We also had a very successful grading,
followed by our award ceremony.
The best grading of the day was done by
Tiaan de Villiers who graded for Pre-Yellow
1. Tiaan showed great power, enthusiasm and
spirit throughout his grading.
A special congratulations to the following
award winners:
Best junior male: Arno Botha
Best junior female: Danica Jonker
Best senior male: Brandon Shepherd
Best senior female: Alex Correia
The highlight of the year, is the awarding
of the Dojo kun trophy winners. These awards
emphasize our Dojo aim to improve our
student’s approach to life, in addition to
their physical karate skills.
The winners of these trophies for 2017 was:
Character: Gonçalo Correia
Sincerity: Chané Erasmus
Effort: Fanie Rossouw
Etiquette: Isabella Correia
Self-control: Heleen Botha
And the most prestigious dojo trophy, the
Reon du Plooy Trophy was awarded to Marco
Botha.
